An Alternative to Cleaning Up
Yesterday Tyler announced that he no longer needs to pick up his legos. The picture shows his alternative to cleaning up that he created using my packing supplies (the blue stuff is bubble wrap). I love my Tyler and his great ideas!

Idol Notes
Jason: Blah. Not my favorite-he'll be going home next week unless he does something impressive.
David C: First song was okay. Second song was better. He thinks he's really cool.
Brooke: First song was fruity. Second song was awesome-loved it! Nice comeback.
David A: He can do no wrong! If he doesn't win, I will lose my testimony of American Idol.
Syesha: Boring. Why is she still around? She's going home tomorrow.

Tyler the Mighty Ladybug Hunter
Ladybugs are hanging out at Trail Canyon Park and so are we! Tyler loves to "hunt" for ladybugs because they are "nice" bugs and they are red and orange. We are really going to miss Trail Canyon Park-we have spent countless hours there over the last few years and Tyler calls it "Our Park". He still loves to go everyday even though that's where he broke his leg last year. We love our park.

Idol Review
I just finished watching American Idol and I have to say that it was kind of lame this week. Andrew Lloyd Weber is just too difficult to pull off without being cheesy. I thought David Archuleta's performance was fabulous, but I liked last week better. Brooke blew it this week (and last week too)- I think she may be going home tomorrow even though I really like her. I'm not a fan of Sayesha, but her performance was among the better ones tonight. Jason Castro's was a little strange but I didn't think it was that bad-he was obviously out of his element. The judges liked David Cook's performance, but I thought it was obnoxious. Carly was great-not a fan of the song (for obvious reasons) but I do hope she makes the final four. My latest prediction for the final four: David Archuleta (of course), David Cook, Carly, and Jason.

Happy Earth Day
All About Earth Day
by Tyler Anderson "What Earth Day is all about is the Web of Life. All of the animals are connected to the world and it beforms a web-The Web of Life. If there were no resources there will not be animals or people on the earth. If there are only resources of people on the earth then there wouldn't be no milk or no corn or no food to eat because all the animals all make our food. So that's what the problem if we had the resource of people. If there were no animals but just a little bit of animals then it will be a half a Web of Life and it wouldn't be much good. We should not leave litter all around our earth cause that's where we live, so if we didn't clean up our trash we wouldn't have any place to live in."

A Visit From Great-Grandparents
Yesterday my grandparents stopped by to visit on their way to AZ. The picture is Bret with his Great Grandpa Ottley (Grandma didn't want her picture taken-she thought her hair looked messy). They are driving from WA to AZ to go through the temple with my Great Uncle Harold and his wife. I don't know Uncle Harold very well, but the whole family is thrilled that they have decided to be sealed in the temple. I really miss my family and it is so fun to see them when we can. I grew up just a bike ride away from my grandparents and spent many wonderful days at their house. I am sad that my kids won't be able to know their grandparents or great-grandparents the way that I was able to, but I'm happy we got to see them yesterday. Tyler gave both of them one of his cars as a gift to take with them. I was proud of him for being so generous with his cars, but then again, I noticed he made sure he wasn't giving away his "Hotwheels" cars-just the generic ones. If you know Tyler, you know how precious his Hotwheels cars are. In our house we say "I love you more than Hotwheels" and that is saying a lot!

Tyler's Post: A Portrait and A Story
we went on a ride at Disneyland. we went on the nemo ride. I was excited. that I was jumping up in the air. and then just then a guard walked up and he said sorry disneyland is closed. and then another guard walked up and then said all the rides are closed down because we had to go to sleep because it's night time. and then another guard walked up and then he said but the rides are closed because some of the people shooted at the buzz lightyear ride and broke their cars. so, then the guard, a guard, and another guard, and another guard, and another guard, and another guard, and another guard walked up and they said you have to go home. So we went home and then we goed to the beach and it's always open and we just got in there and we played. The End.
Bret's First Haircut
We decided that Bret's mohawk was a little out-of-control, so Aaron gave him a fresh new look.

American Idol Fan
Yeah, I know it's "totally teenaged girl" and I'm almost old enough to be David Archuleta's Mom, but I love Season 7 of American Idol. I record it every week so I can watch it when the kids are in bed and I must confess that I have actually voted (yes, I know-how embarrassing!).
If you haven't watched it this season, you should know that there are two LDS contestants in the top eight (assuming that the rumors are true): David Archuleta (my favorite) and Brooke White (she's the one that said she doesn't watch R-rated movies). I think that David Archuleta will win-as he should. His voice is amazing. No really. It is.
There is another David on the show (David Cook) and he is really talented too, but he's just not as likable as David A. I think that he might make it to the final 4 with David Archuleta, Brooke White, and Jason Castro. That's my prediction.
So, does anyone else watch American Idol and know what I am talking about? Do you think David Archuleta will win?
